Founded in 1989 Golf de Moliets was designed by American architect Robert Trent Jones. The 18 hole course at Moliets is ranked in the top fifteen golf courses in France and is also among the 30 most beautiful courses in Europe.
Moliets is an interesting course that plays mostly through an extremely dense forest area, although three holes are set out amongst large coastal dunes. Generally speaking the design and terrain here are both suitable for good golf, the fairways use the rolling ground well, the bunkers are visually appealing and the green shaping is both bold and unpredictable. Some of the putting shapes do appear a touch contrived, but mostly the work is quite good and there is a nice variety in the elevated green sites.
Without reaching great heights, Moliets is an enjoyable place to golf and a further attraction for golfers on the French south-west coast.
Golf de Moliets – 18 hole Par 72 course :
Opened in 1989, the course is straight forward and varied. No one hole is similar to another and the course can be played by all levels of golfers due to the wide fairways. However the well defended greens make scoring somewhat difficult.
The course is on sandy soil ans can be played all year round.
Golf de Moliets – 9 hole Par 31 course :
