Golf Maioris

Located just 15 minutes’ drive from Palma de Mallorca and very close to the sea, Golf Maioris is a varied 18-hole course in Mallorca’s southeast, near S’Arenal. The course was designed by the R S Group and opened in 2006. The relatively new course is easily walked for those who don’t want to hire a buggy (buggies are allowed on the fairways here).

Golf Maioris is set in a classic Mediterranean landscape of pine, olive and carob trees, and there are four lakes and two island greens. The course is suitable for all levels of golfers but requires extra care at certain holes, such as the 4th and 13th, where you could easily lose your ball to the water.

The 457-metre 4th is the signature hole at Golf Maioris. The first of the par five holes on the course, it doglegs left and slightly uphill to an island green which is also guarded by sand to the back right hand corner of the putting surface. A par here is the sort of satisfying score that will set you up for the rest of the round.

The Golf Maioris clubhouse also has private lounges that can be hired for meetings and private events, and four superb paddle tennis courts, equipped with lighting. The ‘Hoyo 20’ golf pro shop stocks golf fashions and equipment from brands including Titleist, Cobra, Bridgestone, Footjoy, Golfino and Lyle & Scout.

Overall Golf Maioris is an enjoyable course for players of all standards and the superb clubhouse at the 19^th is the perfect place to end a great day golfing in Mallorca.
