The Barrhead Golf Club, approximately 1 hour northwest of Edmonton in Alberta, is an 18-hole championship course designed by the renowned Les Furber. It has been included in Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play”
Barrhead Golf Club is home to a well-rated and always popular golf course. This tree-lined parkland layout should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.
The opening hole, is a short par 5. It will give you a chance to start with a birdie. A tee shot to the right side of the fairway sets up a medium length approach or layup. Add one club for a back left pin placement.
Signature hole at Barrhead
Hole 4: the signature hole is known as one of the toughest Par 4’s around. Tee shots hit right or left are sure to find the trees. Check your distance to the rock bed that runs across the fairway. A wayward approach finds nothing but trouble, as the green is well guarded by water and bunkers. Par here is a great score.
