Chenal Country Club is a private, full-service Club founded in 1990.
Adorned by two magnificent golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. — the Founders Course and the Bear Den Course – Chenal Country Club provides championship playing conditions everyday through immaculately maintained facilities and grounds. And the golf programs at Chenal are many and varied, addressing the desires and needs of low-handicappers, the duffer and the beginner as well.
From their very inception, the golf courses at Chenal were destined to be ranked among the most prestigious in the nation. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., both the Founders Course and the Bear Den Mountain Course are imaginatively conceived, dramatically beautiful and extraordinarily challenging. Mr. Jones, creator of more than 125 of the world’s best courses, including Monterey and Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA, designed two majestic courses.
Founders Course at Chenal Country Club
Chenal Country Club opened the Founders Course in 1990. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Founders Course is imaginatively conceived, dramatically beautiful and extraordinarily challenging. The designer preserved the integrity of the rolling, wooded terrain of western Little Rock while developing this majestic course. The Zoysia fairways offer an exceptional lie and the Bentgrass greens present the highest putting surface available. Founders Course at 7,115 yards, nestled along many of the original neighborhoods in Chenal Valley offers a great challenge to golf lovers.
Bear Den Course at Chenal Country Club
Situated within a forested estate close to Little Rock, the fairways of the Bear Den course are a lot tighter than those on the more open Founders course with the sparkling waters of Rock Creek coming into play at a dozen of the holes. The back nine offers the best golfing action. The 406-yard 14th is a fine par four, followed by the 538-yard 15th, where the green juts out into a lake. There’s a little bit of respite to be had at the water-protected par three 17th before tackling the tough 472-yard closing par four.
The Clubhouse offers plenty of dining options, with casual, formal and outdoor venues available. The Family Dining Room is perfect for a casual lunch or dinner, whether pleasure or business. The Formal Dining Room offers those adults over 18 years of age an elegant and relaxing atmosphere. And the Veranda, which overlooks the Founders Golf Course, is a great place to watch the sunset while dining.
