Churchill & Blakedown Golf Club was founded in 1926 and is set in lovely Worcestershire countryside that offers wonderful views from the course and clubhouse. The parkland course of over 6,500 yards offers a true test to all levels of golfer with the quality of the greens being a feature. In fact it is the longest course in its immediate North Worcestershire area. That the Club is often chosen to host Worcestershire County events is testimony to the golfing challenge offered. Members enjoy ready access to the course with no booking needed for tee times and visitors are warmly welcomed at Churchill & Blakedown all year round.
Churchill & Blakedown Golf Club is home to a beautiful little nine-hole course that is great fun for all the family. It might be a little on the short side, but it is by no means a holiday pitch-and-putt course.
To prove that, there a number of holes which present a very different and welcome challenge to the next, surely the sign of a good golf course.
The short fourth boasts trees on both sides of the fairway and requires a tight, accurate drive while the third is guarded by deep bunkers on a third. The seventh is a particularly menacing dog-leg where you can either try and cut the corner and go for birdie or play safe.
The clubhouse is not inspiring but cosy, with good food at good prices and excellent choice of guest beers from around the country which change every week.
