Club de Golf Alcanada

In the north of Mallorca, just north of Puerto Alcúdia, Club de Golf Alcanada is a beautiful 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones and his son, and inaugurated in 2003. It’s well-located for serious golfers staying in the holiday resorts of Alcúdia or Puerto Pollensa, but feels a world away from the bustle of the resorts.

This Robert Trent Jones Jnr design is, as you would expect, perfectly manicured with the greens fast and true. The fairways are lush and you are guaranteed a good lie everywhere. The course is wide and hilly with glorious views from every hole over the Bay of Alcúdia and the Alcanada lighthouse island, with their backdrop of the Sierra de Llevant. The mature pine and olive trees and smooth rolling fairways belie what is a relatively new course.

The course is long, measuring nearly 6500 meters, and has roominess to match, so it is ready if the pros come calling. All of the greens were refurbished in 2008 and brought up to US standards, though they remain difficult to read.  The par fours are varied from short and tight holes to 450 yards plus. There are also four good par threes, a couple over 200 yards.

The clubhouse hosts a first-class restaurant that is the perfect place to have a chat and relax. Its patio features a unique view of the Mediterranean that is right next to Club de Golf Alcanada.
