Since 1890 Datchet Golf Club has been providing a tough challenge for everyone that plays it. The course runs along the River Thames under the watchful eye of Windsor Castle. This is a nine hole course, with fifteen tees, so only three holes are repeated on the back nine. At 6087 yards it is not a course that can be taken for granted, and as the Pros find out when they play, it commands respect. As a relatively flat parkland course, it is also easy walking and provides an enjoyable day’s golf for all golfers, irrespective of age and handicap.
Datchet Golf Club, designed by J H Taylor, is one of the oldest courses in the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. There is a very good practice area where your long and short game can be fine tuned.
It has a fine clubhouse, completed in 1998 following a fire that destroyed the old, mainly wooden, structure and now has excellent bar and catering facilities. The clubhouse is also available for private hire and those special occasions.
Visitors are welcomed allowed all the days and on Bank Holidays and Weekends after 2.00pm during British Summer Time.
