Situated on the sunny south facing slopes of Corrin Hill and set in a glorious profusion of natural heather and gorse, Fermoy Golf Club offers a varied and interesting challenge to experienced and occasional golfers alike. The course commands a breathtaking panoramic view over the vast plains of East Cork. Located just outside Fermoy town, the golf course is located just 20 minutes drive from Cork city on the Cork – Dublin road
Fermoy Golf Club was originally formed in 1893 and golf was played at the Aerodrome in Fermoy. In 1972, the club moved to its present location in Corrin Hill. This mature, 18 hole, par 70 heathland course was designed by John Harris and is 5,831m in length.
Feature holes include the 326-metre par four 1st (the landscape on this hole pretty much sets the tone for the round), the challenging 476-metre par five 6th, and the 420-metre 13th, a tough par four (rated stroke index 1) where the fairway falls severely from the tee before sharply rising again to the green.
Golf trollies are available for hire. The clubhouse with its bar and restaurants offer to all visitors comfort and relaxation in the atmosphere of the warmest hospitality.
Fermoy is certainly in the top golf in Ireland for 20€.
