The Amirauté golf course is a 27 hole golf course near Deauville in Normandy, 5 minutes from the Amirauté Hotel.
In a magical site, among 15 Ha (36 acres) of lakes, the architect Bill Baker has created this championship course, which is nevertheless accessible to all, thanks to its huge greens. The Amirauté golf club offers 3 different courses, one of which is a floodlit 9 hole course.
The hedgerows and marshes landscape of Normandy, the luxurious clubhouse, training facilities, the contemporary sculptures are expected to announce an exceptional course but it’s not quite that. With its wide boulevards, few dangerous fairway obstacles, greens with little personality and very few defended, the excitement of discovery just fade if you play often. The water hazards are the only real difficulties, the bunkers are generally shallow and far from the greens, large roughs, so useful in open spaces, are absent. Experienced players will regret the lack of “breath” of the course but players of all levels can easily evolve in this “weekend” club.
