After Dieppe, Cabourg le Home is the oldest course in Normandy. Founded in 1907 by Lane Jackson, rebuilt in 1954 after being partially destroyed by bombing and then extended to 18 holes in 1987, this course has eight “links” holes and ten holes in the marshes of the Divette River.
It is a highly original course with four par-3 on the last six holes in the links part, which require a very specific set of irons. #16, the reference hole, perched on top of a dune, in front of England, offers a direct view on the beach where your ball can land after a poor choice of club. With 6 015 yards, the Par-69 course remains long enough, with several Par-4 of over 400 yards and two par-5 of over 500 yards. And if some Par-3 are very short, like hole #15, the others are quite long: 186 yards for #16, 211 yards for #18! These challenges can obviously get tougher with the wind that regularly enters in the game.
