Golf Eichenheim

“The art of working with nature” was the motto the American golf course architect Kyle Phillips had in mind when he set out to design the Golf Eichenheim, which has ranked among Austria’s, if not Europe’s, most beautiful golf courses over the past 10 years. Steep rock walls, natural streams, thickset deciduous forests and long pars create a unique atmosphere in the striking scenery of the Kitzbühel Alps. The par 71 course has a length of 6,092 metre and with its difference in altitude of 116 meters and 512-meter long par 5 course represents a sports challenge even for the more exigent of golfers. The many e-cars available are equipped with GPS, giving the golf players seeking to master the sport challenges optimal support.

The course blends seamlessly into this overwhelming panorama, totally in keeping with Kyle Phillips’ design philosophy, which stems from the belief that golf courses should have their own character and personality derived from the site’s existing natural features. The only drawback in this big landscape here at Eichenheim, is that distances are hard to judge, so we recommend a course planner for first time players.

Many of the tee shots are played from elevated tees, which provide a clear view of the daunting prospect at hand. This is particularly noticeable on the par threes, where many of the tee shots must be struck high in the air to find the green sited far below. A notable exception is the 6th hole where a towering
shot is required to find the blind green that’s set high above the tee.
The driving range of the Eichenheim golf course has 30 tees, 13 of which are roofed over. The driving range also features a practice bunker and a putting green to give guests enough room for practicing and putting even in the high season.
