Near the Croatian border, about 110 kilometers to the southeast of the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana and just 30 kilometers from the Croatian capital of Zagreb, lies the municipality of Jesenice. The Golf klub grad Mokrice was founded here in 1992, easily accessible via the highway. The course is closed to the Mokrice medieval castle.
The club boasts an 18-hole course designed by the golf course architect Donald Harradine, who included the diverse landscape in his design. Aside from a more than 200-year-old park, which is kept in English style, lakes and natural differences in elevation were also integrated. The golf course is considered demanding in terms of its difficulty level, featuring very hilly terrain and water hazards.
The back nine prove to be more challenging than the front nine. Altogether, the course displays exciting and interesting holes that demand precise play. Hilly, partly narrow fairways set high demands for golfing skills. At the Golf klub grad Mokrice, guests are always welcome after registering, as long as they are in possession of a club ID with a registered handicap (36).
