Le Kempferhof is set close to Strasbourg in a delightful 85-hecatre wooded estate. A nineteenth century hunting lodge doubles up as the clubhouse and a charming small hotel which is themed around the cinema, specifically movie legends. The Kempferhof is one of the toughest challenges in the Alsace region.
The appeal of the place hits you as soon as you arrive, giving the impression of a carefully groomed course with attention to detail in a true country setting pine-trees, beech and birch.
Playing to your handicap might be too much to ask, but this easily wakable course can be played by any golfer with a little experience. Others might be unsettled by a few dangerous water hazards wich tend to undermine confidence. It’s very selective, calling for skill in ball-control and stroke-making, especially when approaching the greens. An unquestionably course.
