The third oldest golf course in Dubai, the nine-holer at Jebel Ali offers an idyllic escape in a peaceful setting. Uniquely landscaped, the presence of peacocks, guinea fowl, partridges and the occasional Arabian gazelle roaming the fairways completes an experience that makes the 20-minute travel time from Dubai Marina well worth the effort.
Designed by Peter Harradine and opened in 1998, the course has hosted the world’s best players as part of the official curtain raiser to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Tiger Woods, Ernie Els and Colin Montgomerie have all strolled the fairways during the famous Jebel Ali ‘Challenge Match’, and all have had nice things to say about the course.
Each hole is lined with exotic trees, shrubs and original desert flora, while the course also features a saltwater lake that comes into play on five holes. The wooden gazebos, offering views of the sea and the wildlife that freely roams the fairways, have added a special charm to this course that is a fair and exciting challenge for golfers of all abilities.
