Oddur Golf Club is located in beautiful surroundings in the immediate vicinity of the greater area of Urridavatnsdalir, within about 20 minutes driving distance from the centre of Reykjavik. The golf course is surrounded by lava. It is an exhilarating experience to play golf in the midst of nesting moor birds and enjoy their singing, far away from the city’s noise and everyday toil.
The club operates two courses, Urriðavöllur, 18 hole championship course and Ljúflingur, a 9 hole par 3 course. The Urriðavöllur course is a challenging 5.859 meter (6.407 yards) ,par 71. Officially opended in 1997 it has quickly established itself as one of the best courses in Iceland and is a regular venue on the Icelandic Amateur Tour. Oddur Golf Club was the venue for the European Ladies´ Amateur Team Championship in 2016 in which 20 national teams competed for the prestigious trophy.
The golf course is a heathland course flanked by lava from the dormant volcano Búrfell. The clubhouse, which overlooks the eighteenth and the ninth green, features a bar and a restaurant. You can enjoy light snacks or full meals in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The Pro Shop and changing rooms are also located in the clubhouse.
The practice facilities include a 16 bay driving range, two large putting greens and a bunkered chipping green. The multilingual PGA certified Professional team are more than capable of dealing with any swing problems that may arise.
Note that midnight golf is open at request during summer period.
