Riviera Golf Club is an impressive piece of architecture where the renowned designer Robert Trent Jones II has generated a dramatic synergy of golf 27 holes with magnificent Mayan jungle, natural lakes and cenotes in a rugged geography. The Riviera Maya is a great venue to golf in Mexico. This Robert Trent Jones golf course has 27 holes cut on the deepest part of a limestone quarry and fairways spreading out over the dense jungle, playing at the Riviera Maya Golf Club will be remembered as a great environmental experience by any golfer. Riviera Maya Golf Club is one of the best executive golf courses in the Riviera Maya.
Riviera Maya Golf Club has an 18 hole Championship Par 72 round plus an executive 9 hole Par 3 golf course. With more than 90 acres of construction right at the heart of a tropical forest of more than 290 acres, this course has quickly turned into one of the most prestigious developments in the Mayan Riviera.
The 18 hole championship course is situated next to an old limestone quarry, where its fairways were literally carved from a landscape of dense jungle. Feature holes on the front nine include the 4th and the 6th, where water threatens at both greensites.
There’s also a strong finish to the round, starting at the long par five 16th (doglegging around a stone-lined water hazard) and ending at the 436-yard 18th, where the hole plays uphill, past a number of rocky outcrops, to the home green. The last hole of the professional round is long, straight and has water in front of the gentlemen’s tee. It is well protected by bunkers on the left, which also separate it from the hole 10, and the green’s arrival has a slight elevation. This hole makes the player have the feeling of having played in one of the best golf course ever.
