SouthShore Golf Club is a private golf club available only to property owners of Lake Las Vegas Resort..
The award-winning, members-only Southshore Golf Club is the first private Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in Nevada, an inspiration that rises to the ridge tops before falling away down rugged canyons to the sparkling lake below. Rising from the shoreline of Nevada’s largest privately owned lake to the desert hills, the private, 6,925-yard SouthShore Golf Club draws upon Lake Las Vegas Resort’s unique topography to provide a one-of-a-kind golfing experience. For his first Nevada signature golf course, Jack carved out a dramatic layout creating a course with elevations ranging from 1,410 to 1,750 feet.
The course plays to a par of 71 and although this is resort golf with generous landing areas, there are strategically placed bunker complexes in place, plus forced carries over water and gorges, to threaten a good score.
Perched on a hill overlooking the golf course’s rolling greens and Lake Las Vegas, the 28,000 square foot SouthShore Golf Clubhouse provides an extensive calendar of social events and activities, and features a member’s library, intimate dining areas, a main bar, banquet and meeting facilities, full service men’s and women’s locker rooms, pro shop, a cart and bag storage area, and snack bar.
Lake Las Vegas visitors can play two other very good public courses. Reflections Bay is another Nicklaus design and it opened two years after SouthShore whilst The Falls is a Tom Weiskopf creation, opening in 2002. The Tom Fazio-designed Rainbow Canyon course is expected to join the others very soon.
